About Us

 

The primary goal of our laboratory is to develop novel biomaterials and devices for clinical applications by integrating knowledge in material science, biology and medicine. Our approach is by investigating material design principles to create biomaterials with new structures and functions for tissue regeneration and replacement. Using new methodologies for biomaterial synthesis, assembling and fabrication, we currently focus on material functions that can modulate cellular responses, deliver RNA molecules and transplant therapeutic cells. Our research is conducted at molecular, cellular and animal levels, and biomaterials and device prototypes that have been developed in our laboratory are being assessed in skin, diabetic and myocardial disease models towards translational tissue repair products.
